In the first month of spring, consumer price growth accelerated to 4.5% and reached 13.7% in annual terms.
In March, inflation in Ukraine accelerated to 4.5% from 1.6% in February, according to the State Statistics Service.
In January, inflation was 1.3%, and in December 0.6%.
In annual terms, in March, inflation rose to 13.7% from 10.7% in February and 10% in January.
Core inflation also jumped to 3.8% from 1% in February and 0.1% in January. And in annual terms, it rose to 10.5% from 8.2% in February and 7.6% in January.
From the beginning of 2022, inflation will be 7.6%, while core inflation will be 4.9%.
At the same time, the National Bank estimates inflation in March at 2.1%, in annual terms – 11.1%, and the base – 8.5%. At the same time, before the war, price growth was predicted at the level of 9.2% and 8.2%.
It will be recalled that in 2021 inflation rose to 10% from 5% in 2020 and 4.1% in 2019.
