Budget revenues rose sharply in July after the removal of duty relief introduced in April, parliament said.
In July 2022, the general fund of the state budget received UAH 64 billion, which is 61.9% (UAH 24.5 billion), more than in July 2021. This was announced on Monday, August 1, by the head of the tax committee of Verkhovna Rada, Daniil Getmantsev.
“The fulfillment of the indicative of 144.7%, an additional UAH 19.8 billion went to the budget,” he wrote.
According to him, in general, for seven months, the general fund of the state budget received UAH 413.9 billion, which is 25.2% more than a year earlier.
Thus, VAT revenues increased by 1.5 times, or by UAH 45.7 billion, to UAH 131.6 billion, including UAH 34.6 billion in July, which is 2.6 times, or 21. UAH 1 billion more than in July 2021.
According to Getmantsev, the reason for income growth, despite the fall in GDP in the first half of the year, according to the National Bank, by 28%, is deshadowing.
In this regard, the deputy head of the committees, Yaroslav Zheleznyak, added that revenues from customs in July amounted to UAH 22.9 billion, which is 82% or UAH 12.6 billion more than in June, when there are benefits for importing goods to Ukraine.
“That is, the elimination of tax exemptions gave the budget… +10.3 billion UAH in almost a month. Moreover, the exchange rate increased. How stupid was the decision to introduce them , I guess you decide for yourself,” he wrote.
According to the Ministry of Finance, due to the war for half a year, the budget deficit was UAH 406.1 billion. The country’s leadership believes that by the end of the year, the deficit may exceed $50 billion.
