Additional funds will ensure the relentless functioning of the railroad transport system for military, economic and civilian population needs.
The European Business Association (EBA) has called on people’s representatives to support the provisions of Bill No. 13439-3, which provides additional financing of ukrzaliznytsia from the state budget. This is reported on the organization’s website.
It was introduced that in 2025, according to forecasts, Ukrzaliznytsia’s losses from passenger transportation reached 22 billion UAHs, as tariffs for the population were recorded during martial law, and costs continue to grow.
The organization recalled that these losses were covered by cross-subsidization-from the income received from shipment transportation. This means that the infrastructure development should be directed and improved logistics services are forced to spend on occupying passenger segments. However, with a significant collapse in freight volume due to the work and destruction of the industry, resources for such a cross-suction are depleted.
“Personal owners can no longer withstand additional load, their competitiveness has critically worsened, in particular in a situation where many enterprises are in a difficult situation due to the influence of a full-scale war. Given this, the European Business Association calls to support the Bill No. 13439-3, since the adoption of this adoption of this Provision will contribute to the support of the country’s defense, economic activity and the implementation of important social functions the states, without exacerbating critically problems for the economy, ”Eve said.
Earlier, Deputy Lyudmila Boimister of People noted that it was possible to supply Ukrzaliznitsu through taxes from banks’ superprofits. For this, Verkhovna Rada should make changes that will enable UZ for 8 billion hryvnias.
Remember that 2025 Ukrzaliznytsia was completed in a year with a loss of 4.2 billion hryvnias, although its income grew +11% and costs 102.9 billion hryvnias – the largest value among transportation companies in Ukraine.
It has also been known that Ukrzaliznytsia will index prices for tea and coffee for the first time in six years. Increasing prices will allow the company to at least cover the operating costs associated with the sale of products.
