The Mask Company turned to the British Regulator of Ofgem for a license to provide electricity to homes and businesses next year.
The Tesla mask is applied for a license for providing electricity to households in the UK. The BBC reported it.
If the Ofgem Energy Regulator approves the application, Tesla will compete with large market players and provide electricity to homes and businesses in England, Scotland and Wales next year.
Tesla, known as one of the largest electrical vehicles in the world, is also engaged in solar energy and energy storage. The company is already working at the Tesla Electric Service in Texas, which allows those who have electric cars to charge them with reduced tariffs and sell excessive electricity in the network.
The application signed by European Energy Unit head Tesla Andrew Payne was submitted by the end of last month. According to the company, more than 250 thousand Tesla electric vehicles and ten -thousands of home batteries were sold in the UK, which could be the basis for customers’ attraction.
Considering the application of the NGEM can take up to nine months.
An appeal to the regulator took place against the background of a fall in Tesla sales in Europe. In July, the registration of Tesla’s electric vehicles in the UK dropped nearly 60%, in Germany – by more than 55%. The total collapse of sales in ten major European countries costs 45% per month.
Earlier, the Tesla Electric Vehicles manufacturer published a financial report for the second quarter of 2025, reflecting a significant deterioration in the company’s indicators against the rear of sales and political activities of the Ilon mask.
