Thanks to a more stable energy situation in the first half of the year, the NBU reduced the analysis of electrical deficiency by 1% in 2025.
Thanks to the operation of the energy industry, the power deficiency in Ukraine in 2025 was lower than the predicted earlier. It was stated in July Inflationary report Ukraine national bank.
Despite the new damage to the energy system, work repair continues in 2025, especially to restore shunting developing capacities. Thanks to a more stable situation in the first half of the year, the NBU reduced the prognosis of electrical deficiency from 3% (according to April estimates) to 1%.
According to the updated estimates, in 2026 the deficiency will also be 1% considering imports. Whereas in 2027 a lack of electricity was unexpected.
The national bank’s note that such low indicators will not have a significant impact on the speed of economic growth. In addition, a less need for emergency nutrition will reduce business costs and weaken inflationary pressure.
However, the risks will remain. In the case of a faster stabilization of the safety situation, the speed of repair may increase, however, with it, the demand for the electricity of businesses and households will increase.
At the same time, the threat of new attacks on energy infrastructure from Russia remains. Such blows can not only limit energy production, but industry delivery is also complicated, which negatively affects GDP.
The national bank also indicates that increasing business costs to sources of power sources or importing gas may boost inflation risks.
However, rapid restoration of gas manufacture, generation and development of renewable energy can ensure the stability of the energy system and support economic growth even in the conditions of new challenges.
Earlier it was learned that Ukraine increased the power of exporting electricity – up to 650 MW. Currently, our country has been in power with all neighboring European countries.
In Rada, they warned the lack of electricity to tag -day
