Calls of car -owned car are associated with models with L87: GMC Sierra, Yukon, Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, Silverado and Cadillac Escalade.
General Motors faced a wave of collective suits due to serious L87 problems of the L87 series, Carscoops reports. The owners say that the company knows about defects from the beginning, but has not provided a reliable solution to the problem.
A lawsuit filed in the Eastern District of Wisconsin (USA) applies to the 6.2-liter GM engine installed on models such as GMC Sierra, Yukon, Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, Silverado and Cadillac Escalade. According to the plaintiffs, the machines are not in the order of connecting the shaft bearings, which can lead to engine jamming or its destruction during movement. Such cases led to car accidents and fires.
Currently, in the framework of the review campaign, GM has suggested to replace the machine only in cases where it does not undergo a technical inspection. If the unit is tested, it is only changed with a thicker oil, another filter and cover are installed. But, according to the owners, it does not solve the problem – the machine can still fail over time. At the same time, even the new units installed instead of damaged are the same L87 and have the same deficiency.
Seals also need compensation for the cost of cars and the impossibility of their use. In accordance with the Eastern District of Michigan, another lawsuit is considered -alang, which in addition to problems with bearings, the defective manufacture of the crankshaft also noted.
We reminded, earlier reported that General Motors were expected of up to $ 5 billion losses from the duties in 2025.
