For the first time, a gas test test with the Transbalkan Corridor along with the Bulgaria route -Romania is also conducted for the first time.
Naftogaz entered the first Azerbaijani gas purchase agreement with Socar Energy Ukraine, which is part of the Socar group. It was reported by the Ukrainian company on Monday, July 28.
“Also in the first time, the gas supply was carried out by the Transbalkan Corridor along the Bulgaria – Romania route – the Ukrainian border,” the report said.
According to Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz Sergey Koresky, we are talking about a small volume, but a strategic important step that will open the way to long -term cooperation.
“As well as another example of diverting the supply resources and boosting Ukraine’s energy security,” he added.
Remember that in May, operators of gas delivery systems of Bulgaria, Greece, Moldova, Romania and Ukraine developed a gas supply scheme from Greece to our state of the Transbalkan Corridor. This will provide an additional nearly 1 billion cubic meters per year.
The transbalkan corridor is a major gas pipeline that has previously been used to supply Russian gas to the balks. In 2019, part of its infrastructure in Turkey and Bulgaria was included in the Balkan stream gas pipeline.
Remember that in December 2024, Ukraine first received liquid natural gas from the United States through Greece. The batch of nearly 100 million cubic meters of gas or 1 TVT-H energy on Gaslog Board Savannah arrived at the LNG terminal of the Revest.
