Five regions have already harvested more than one million tons of crops, many regions have finished harvesting peas.
Ukraine has already harvested 11.8 million tons of grain and leguminous crops from a total area of 3.5 million hectares, according to the website of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy on Friday, July 29.
Thus, 8 million tons of wheat (+4.2 million tons per week) were harvested from 2.3 million hectares (+1.1 million hectares), 3.5 million tons of barley (+1 million tons) from 1.73 million hectares (+0.92 million hectares ) and 193 thousand tons of peas (+66 thousand tons) from 96.5 thousand hectares (+21.5 thousand hectares). In addition, 1.8 million tons of winter rapeseed were harvested (+903 thousand tons per week) from 702 thousand hectares (+302 thousand hectares).
Odessa, Dnepropetrovsk, Nikolaev, Vinnitsa and Kirovograd regions have already harvested more than one million tons.
In addition, Vinnitsa and Transcarpathian regions have finished harvesting winter barley. In Vinnitsa, Volyn, Donetsk, Kyiv and Nikolaev regions, they have finished picking peas.
During the 2022 sowing campaign, 14.16 million hectares of land were sown during the war – this is 83.7% of the figures for the previous year (16.92 million hectares).
According to Mingaropolitika forecasts, this year’s harvest is around 65 million tons against 106.5 million tons last year.
