The company of the Central European Petroleum (CEP) announced the opening of a significant field of oil and gas Wolin East. According to the company, the deposit contains 22 million tons of hydrocarbons made and five billion cubic meters of natural gas quality, Polish’s Edition of Money Edition.Pl.
It is the largest traditional field of oil in Poland’s history and is one of Europe’s largest in the past decade.
The total source of Wolin concession, operated by the CEP, is estimated to be more than 33 million tons of oil and condensate and 27 billion cubic meters of gas.
The WE1 Well was drilled to a depth of 2715 meters from the jack-up marine platform. The tests confirmed the presence of a 62-meter column of hydrocarbons in a promising geological layer of the main dolomite.
The opening of the Wolin East can be a major moment for the development of the Poland energy sector, especially considering the potential of the Baltic Sea as a new territory for hydrocarbons. The project is in the preparation and approved phase of the required documentation.
Remember that in April, the Czech government said that in the first instance of history the country has become a fully independent of Russian oil supplies after completing modernization of capacities in the Tal Oil pipeline, running from the west.
