Sowing areas in 2025 will grow thanks to clearance, but grain harvesting is expected to be smaller. This was said by the first deputy minister of the agrarian policy taras vysotsky at a Trend & Hedge Club meeting, report Interfax-Ukraine On Thursday, July 17.
In Season-2025, production areas in Ukraine will remain at last year’s level, however, 270 thousand hectares are additionally introduced due to mine clearance.

As for buckwheat, the department does not expect a deficiency. The domestic market will be provided, while excess will be sent for export.
The final forecast for corn yield is not ready – the culture is still in the active plant stage. At the same time, the analysts followed a careful forecast – 26 million tons, which were 5% lower compared to 2024.
“We see a condition of 54.5-53.5 million tons by grain. It’s a plus/minus 5%,” Vysotsky added.
As for oilseed crops, the rapeseed crop in 2025 was expected of 3 million tons (compared to 5.7 million tons last year), Soybean – 5.7 million tons (compared to 6.6 million tons), sunflower – 20 million tons.
According to Vysotsky, the greatest risks are associated with the harvesting of sunflower, which suffers from drought to the south. Due to this gross, the fee can drop to 15 million tons and less.
As a result, the yield of oilseeds by 2025 was expected at the level of 20.5 million tons.
Remember that for Ukraine, the manufacture of wheat in the 2025-2026 Marketing Year (July-June) was reduced by 1 million tons compared to the June-to-22 million tons (4.35%).
According to the head of the Ukrainian Grain Association, in the new season (July 2025 – June 2026) Ukraine could collect 83 million tons of grain and oil crops, 5.5% more than last year (78.7 million tons).
