Due to the beginning of Russia’s entire -scale raid, the IMF became the third largest supplier of financial assistance in Ukraine after the EU and USA.
Ukraine has received the ninth tranche from the IMF – $ 500 million – to cover priority budget needs. This was announced by Prime Minister Denis Shmygal on Telegram on Tuesday, July 1.
“This is the result of the eighth revision of the EFF cooperation program. Currently, as part of the program, the fund has already sent $ 10.6 billion to Ukraine,” he wrote.
Shmygal thanked the IMF for ongoing systematic support, thanks to which Ukraine maintains maintenance in the struggle for independence and the restoration of the state.
The Ministry of Finance recalled that on March 31, 2023, the IMF Executive Council approved a four -year program as part of the expanded Financing (EFF) mechanism for Ukraine with a financing of nearly $ 15.5 billion (11.6 billion SPZ). This program is part of a package of international support for Ukraine at a value currently about $ 152.9 billion for 2023-2027.
“Due to the beginning of a full -scale aggression, the International Monetary Fund is the third largest financial assistance in Ukraine, after the European Union and the USA,” the department said.
Earlier it was reported that Ukraine asked the IMF to reduce tranche volume in March. In general, in 2025 it was planned to attract $ 2.7 billion from the fund according to the results of the four quarterly reviews.
