Bangladesh companies have imported wheat from Ukrainian territories occupied by Russia.
Ukraine is preparing to appeal to the European Union with a call to impose sanctions against Bangladesh companies that are importing grain exported by Russia from occupied Ukrainian territories. Reuters reported this Friday, June 27th.
It was noted that the Ukraine embassy in New Delhi sent at least four letters to the Bangladesh Foreign Ministry, in which the courts indicated the courts and their registration numbers that brought more than 150 thousand tons of grain from the Russian harbor of the Caucasus. Russian companies mix wheat with Russian -grain territories to hide its origin.
“This is a crime. We will share our investigation with our colleagues from the European Union and kindly ask them to take appropriate steps,” said the Ukraine ambassador in India, Alexander Polishchuk.
Ukraine diplomats warned Bangladesh about possible “serious consequences”, including penalties not only against the importation of companies, but also related to officials who contributed to the trading of stolen grains.
EU Anitta Hipper representatives said any involvement in the transport of stolen Ukrainian grain could be the basis for penalties.
Keep in mind that Ukraine’s Foreign Intelligence Service has evidence of 39 ships and more than 80 captains involved in the illegal export of Ukrainian grain from the occupied territories.
