In Rada, they submitted for registering a package of bills in Defense City – a special legal regime for weapons manufacturers.
A package of bills in the introduction of a special legal city defense city for the defense industry businesses has been submitted to Verkhovna Rada. This is announced by the parliamentary faculty leader People David Arahamia on Wednesday, June 25th.
The initiative was developed together in the Ministry of Defense.
“More than 40% of front weapons are made in Ukraine. We have unique development and experience in conducting a modern war. Western partners show a high interest in cooperating with our businesses. In the future, our defense industry will be one of the points of economic growth,” Arahamia said.
The package of bills provides for the creation of a special list of Defense City residents, who will lead the Ministry of Defense. It is also given:

Information protection about weapon manufacturers;

Exception from income tax (subject to repair), land tax, real estate and environmental tax tax until January 1, 2036;

Preventing existing benefits – for VAT, accelerated depletion and for workers of business relocation.
City City residents will receive:

Simplifying customs and exporting methods,

Further guarantee of protection within the framework of the criminal process,

Support the relocation of businesses,
-
The possibility of foreign currency messages by deciding the NBU.
The person’s deputy explained that such a support package would allow businesses to develop, scale production, expand cooperation with partners and, most importantly, provide more weapons and equipment to protect Ukraine.
He added that the initiators rely on the support of all parliamentary factions and groups.
Note that from the beginning of the year the Ministry of Defense has completed contracts with 12 Ukrainian weapons manufacturers for nearly 130 billion UAH. The cost of Ukraine costs for defense for 2024 was also named.
