Record world prices for exchange products contributes to the increased amount of exporting of Ukraine dairy.
Ukraine in May 2025 significantly increased exporting of dairy products – compared to April, volumes increased by a quarter, while income – to a third. This was reported by the Association of Milk Manufacturers (AVM).
Generally, over five months of 2025, more than 57 thousand tons of milk for nearly 180 million dollars exported – it was almost twice the same as the same period last year.
The Association of Milk Manufacturers Association of Milk Manufacturers Georgy Kukhaleishvili recounts that the main driver is a high price of the world for milk exchange – in particular, European oil is worth a record of 7200-7400 Euro per ton – almost record indicators over the past seven years.
This price boom, along with open access to the European market, provides Ukrainian manufacturers to occupy strong positions in foreign markets. Butter, condensed milk, cheeses and ice cream – the main export products:
-
Butter 40%;
-
Milk and cream forgiven by 26%;
-
Ice cream 16%;
-

However, the additional fate of exports is not sure. Current preferences that give you to export milk without duties and quotas, only act until the beginning of June. After that, the EU plans to restore trading restrictions to protect its farmers. The Ukrainian side is discussing the expansion of benefits or alternative cooperation formats to maintain positive trends.
Importing dairy products in Ukraine also increased slightly compared to last year, mainly due to cheese goods. This brings a certain voltage to the industry, as Ukrainian manufacturers face strict competition.

Overall, the Ukraine dairy industry shows a strong increase in exports due to profitable prices and extensive access to EU markets. At the same time, calls with trade policy and competition in the domestic market require active actions from power and business.
Keep in mind that according to March results, consumer prices in Ukraine accelerated 1.5% from 0.8% in February. An annual inflation was up to 14.6% compared to 13.4% in February.
