Signs of corrosion have been found in the Civaux 2 reactor pipes in Central France, which has been maintaining since April.
Electricity prices in Europe strictly jump after the electricite de France in reported signs of corrosion to one of the nuclear reactors. It was written by Bloomberg on Wednesday, June 11.
It was noted that it caused fear of re-reducing production, which led to energy shocks in 2022-2023.
According to the French nuclear security regulator, the signs of corrosion were found again in the Civaux 2 reactor pipes in central France, which has been maintained since April. The EDF is currently expecting the final results of the checks.
Against the background of this news, electricity prices in France for one year in advance increased by 8.4% to 67.50 euros per Megavatt-Hour, which became the highest in February. The contract for August, when the peak of electricity consumption was expected due to heat, jumped 13%immediately.
In Germany, prices rose 2.92% to 89.40 Euro per Megavatt -Hour, and in the UK it is also noteworthy, as both countries often depend on importing electricity from France.
In 2022-2023, the EDF had already restrained some of their reactors for repairing cracks in pipes, which then coincides with a sharp reduction in gas supplies from Russia and led to a record jump on energy prices in Europe.
Remember that by the end of April, the Ministers’ cabinet left unchanged tariffs for the population. At least until October 31, a single fixed electricity price for individual and collective household buyers at level 4.32 UAH/KW*h is preserved.
Ukraine will move to nominal voltage according to the European article
