Ukrainian manufacturers can continue to provide products to EU countries without quotas, duties and other restrictions.
On June 5, the European Union expanded the regime preference for the import of Ukrainian Steel and Iron for another three years – after June 6, 2025. It was announced by economics minister Yulia Sviridenko on Thursday, June 5.
Thus, Ukrainian manufacturers can continue to provide products to EU countries without quotas, duties and other restrictions.
Sviridenko called the decision timely. The minister explained that over the years of the entire war war, Ukrainian metallurgy has been one of the industries that experienced the greatest losses.
“Some of the factories are destroyed. Others – work on the limit. But they hold and they need access to markets to save jobs, provide foreign money income in the country and work to restore,” Sviridenko added.
He recalled that the European market requires Ukrainian products. Thus, in 2024, Ukraine exports of EU products made of steel and became a total of more than 1.8 billion dollars (over 3.4 million tons). Whereas for the first quarter of 2025 – another $ 422 million (about 800 thousand tons).
The head of the Economic Department thanked the European Union partners for this decision.
