The United States president plans to “play games as he knows”, because negotiations with the EU are “not moving forward”.
American president Donald Trump was not looking for transactions after the day before a 50% fee against the European Union was announced. He said this during a briefing at the Oval Office, Politico reported.
Trump told the eve that negotiations with the EU were “motionless”, so he suggested in response to introduce 50% of the fee for all goods from the EU, beginning June 1, 2025.
Later in the Oval Office, he said “It’s time to play the game as he knows.”
“I’m not looking for a deal. We’ve identified it – it’s 50%,” the American president said.
Keep in mind that the European stock market on Friday dropped dramatically, and the profitability of Eurozone government bonds decreased after Donald Trump’s statement about the intent to introduce 50% of the fee for all goods from the European Union.
