The mask company cannot file reports to the local ACMA regulator in accordance with the law.
The Australian Communications and Media Office (ACMA) issued a warning to the company to provide Internet services to Starlink Ilona Mask due to user complaints. This was reported by the Australian Television Channel SBS News.
In Australia, telecommunication companies that provide more than 30,000 active services are required to file reports to the ACMA regulator no later than 30 days after each quarter.
But Starlink couldn’t do it four times from October 2023 to July 2024.
“Starlink’s inability to timely submit the necessary reports to the complaints that prevented ACMA from controlling Starlink’s obligations to consumers,” said Samantha York, regulator’s representative.
Since then, the company has submitted reports on unresolved complaints and has worked throughout the investigation.
Satellite services from Starlink have gained popularity in part of the Australian regions, where the Internet is provided through a more copper network rather than cable-optic cables.
As we have already written, President Donald Trump has encouraged foreign governments to approve StarLink work in his countries – often in line with trade negotiations
