The support and protection of the Ukrainian manufacturer is one of the government’s major priorities, emphasized by the Ministry of Economy.
The Interdepartmental Commission on International Trade has adopted a number of defense decisions of Ukrainian manufacturers from impractical imports. This was reported by the Press Service of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine on Thursday, May 22.
The commission expanded another five years the action of protection (anti -dumping) duty in imports in Ukraine. Thus, we are talking about cement from Moldova, Russia, Belarus (import from the state of aggressiveness is prohibited by the government’s command on April 9, 2022) and a metal rolls with an anti-corrosion coating from the Russian Federation and China.
In addition, through the circulation of businesses in Ukrainian, it was decided to start an anti-dumping investigation regarding the import of cable-wire products from Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan and Turkey. This is done to determine if such products are sold in the Ukrainian market at a low price, causing harm to the domestic manufacturer.
In addition, the commission has decided to change existing protective measures, the duration of which to expire, for example, to imports from China Steel Seamless pipes and ferrous metal products without electrical insulation (except for stainless steel and aircraft for flight).
Remember that in the first quarter of 2025, Ukraine’s metallurgy shows positive dynamics. In particular, in March, cast iron smelting reached 563,200 tons – 4.6% more than the same month of 2024, and 3.5% more compared to February 2025.
Penalties are “reduced” by a — quarter of exports from the Russian Federation
