Cigarette maker Marlboro has been working since March to shut down operations in Russia.
Philip Morris International Inc. before the end of this year intends to withdraw from the Russian market. This was reported by Bloomberg on July 21, citing the tobacco company’s chief executive officer, Jacek Olczak.
“We are working hard to complete our presence in Russia, but I don’t think it will happen in the next quarter,” he said.
According to Olchak, “it’s a fairly complicated process” that could be completed “by the end of the year.”
Cigarette maker Marlboro said in March it was working on exit options from Russia amid protests over the invasion of Ukraine.
It was previously reported that the American tech giant IBM is ending business in Russia.
