Ukraine has rapidly increasing its imports of electric machines, gasoline and equipment since the beginning of 2025.
The volume export of goods from Ukraine in January-March 2025 would cost $ 9.95 billion, matching 93.1% of the indicator for the same period last year. Importing, on the other hand, grew 14.7% to $ 18.47 billion. As a result, foreign trade deficiency expanded to $ 8.5 billion. This is proven by the state statistics service.
“For the first quarter of 2025, exporting goods would cost $ 9952.7 million, or 93.1% compared to the first quarter of 2024, import – $ 18,467.5 million, or 114.7%,” the report said.
In the first quarter of 2024, the negative balance was $ 5.4 billion, so the increasing deficiency costs more than 57%. Importing coefficients covering exports deteriorated from 0.66 to 0.54.
Ukraine conducted foreign trade operations with 211 countries.
Export the dynamics
The most noticeable -noticing increase of exports showed:

Pharmaceutical products – +33.2%, up to $ 96.1 million;

Wood mass and cellulose – +22.1%, up to $ 64.1 million;

Animal and animal products – +21.1%, up to $ 452.1 million.
At the same time, exporting has decreased dramatically:

Grain crops – by 15.7%, up to $ 2.25 billion;

oils and fats – by 3.7%, up to $ 1.48 billion;

Black metals – by 3.2%, up to $ 728.7 million.
I -import the structure
A significant increase in imports occurred in the following positions:

Electric machines – +73.2%, up to $ 2.61 billion;

Mineral fuel, oil and processing products – +26.4%, up to $ 2.56 billion;

Nuclear reactors, boilers, cars – +4.0%, up to $ 1.46 billion.
At the same time, land transport purchases (except the railroad) have been reduced by 0.7% – up to $ 1.88 billion.
Remember that in April 2025, Ukraine exported 4.1 million tons of agro -industrial products -it was 23.4% lower compared to March.
