Most US citizens are afraid of damage from rising tariffs both in the near future and in the long run.
The existing majority of US residents – 62% – afraid that in the long run the American role will lead to losses rather than further income. This is proven by survey data conducted by Gallup.
In addition, even more – 70% – respondents believe that the United States will have losses from the duties in the short term.
Most Americans – 89% – believe that duties can lead to rising prices for goods.
The survey shows that 31% of Americans are not aiming to endure economic problems due to duties. However, 20% of respondents are willing to endure economic difficulties for months, 22% during the year, and another 15% for two to three years.
The survey was conducted from April 2 to 15, 2025.
