The National Bank of Ukraine has significantly reduced the amount of money sales this week. This has been confirmed by data on the Regulator website on Saturday, April 19.
Thus, in five working days, the NBU sells only more than $ 314 million in the Interbank foreign exchange market. This is the minimum indicator from the beginning of the year and 40% less than the amount of last week ($ 536 million).
Also, the regulator buys a amount of money record a second time this year – $ 10 million.
Overall, since the beginning of 2025, the National Bank has been selling more than $ 10.2 billion in the interbank, and only gained $ 33.5 million.
Note that in recent days the dollar rate has been significantly reduced to the Ukraine and international market, as investors in World Reserve Currency remain discussed after a series of US president’s statements Donald Trump related to tariffs.
But in recent days, the situation in the foreign exchange market has changed – the dollar and the euro have completed a week’s growth.
