From January to March, 1.70 million tons of cast iron melted – 7.2% more than the same period last year. The manufacture of steel increased by 2.7% to 1.73 million tons, while renting – 3.3%, up to 1.44 million tons.
In March, cast iron smelting reached 563.2 thousand tons, 4.6% more than March 2024, and 3.5% more in February this year.
At the same time, March indicators for steel and lease production are reduced to the annual size. 550.5 thousand tons melted – 9.9% less than last year, and rent – 478.4 thousand tons, which is 2.1% less. However, compared to February, the lease showed insignificant importance – 0.3%.
Keep in mind that Ukraine has increased from the 21st to 20th place in the ranking of 71 countries, the largest steel manufacturer.
Earlier, metinvest calculated the required amount of steel for the restoration of Ukraine. Nearly 3.5 million tons of steel are required to restore destroyed housing and social infrastructure in Ukraine as a result of the invasion of Russia.
