The global trade war significantly hit the economies of Ukraine’s economic and trade partners, Daniil warned the Hetmans.
The global trade war between the United States and the European Union can lead to a significant slowdown in European countries, which will reduce their possibilities for financial support for Ukraine. On Thursday, April 3, the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy wrote on Telegram Daniel Getmans.
According to his estimates, the direct influence of the Ukraine fee is expected to be limited, as the exports of goods to the United States are $ 0.9 billion or about 2% of Ukrainian total exports in 2024.
At the same time, the Hetmans consider the main threat to Ukraine certainly indirect influence of the trade war, which will cause a significant slowdown in the European Union economy.
“The global trade war has greatly defeated the economies of our economic partners and trade, especially the EU. They are slow. Therefore, to make less money, which will reduce the possibilities of helping us,” the human deputy written.
An additional problem is the growth of protectionism from European partners, which can significantly limit the access of Ukrainian goods to European markets.
“The governments of the country’s partners will be forced to include protectionism and not only related to American merchandise. And these protection measures will significantly hit us,” he believes.
In this context, the People’s Deputy Deputy recalled last year’s issues of exporting Exports of Ukrainian agrarian products to Europe with more interesting global market conditions.
“But it really introduces 10% of the fee with a lack of our foreign trade from the United States to $ 2.6 billion -the economic sequel to the highest grade,” the Hetmans summary.
Remember, on April 2, US President Donald Trump announced the introduction of major duties to imported goods from most countries of the world. He called it America’s “Day of Liberation”.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Economy considers new American duties against Ukraine that are not critical. This was announced by first deputy prime minister, economics minister Yulia Sviridenko.
