The country’s government plans to “fight these tariffs with the help of countermeasures,” Mark Carney assured.

The Canadian government will prevent the tariffs of US President Donald Trump and provide support to the wounded workers. It was said by Prime Minister Mark Carney, CBC report.

The Canadian head of the Canadian government emphasized that Trump’s decision was to begin the international trading system.

According to him, the government plans to “fight these tariffs with the help of countermeasures,” but have not led the details about what these actions may be.

Carney added that on Thursday it would talk to prime ministers of provinces and territories.

He later published a post on his X, in which he emphasized that against the back of Trump’s tariff war, it was necessary to “act with purpose and decisions.”

“My government will fight US tariffs, protect Canadian workers and industries and build the G7’s strongest economy,” the Prime Minister emphasized.

As you know, on Wednesday, April 2, Trump announced the introduction of major duties to imported goods. He called it America’s “Day of Liberation”.
