Kiev’s debt for heat supply and hot water supply services from the beginning of the heat period increased by 6.5% and up to 8 billion UAH. This was announced by the director of SP Energozbut KP Kyivteploenergo Konstantin Lopatin with a briefing following the results of the heat period 2024/2025.
The total debt of capital residents is 5 billion UAH for heating and nearly 3 billion UAHs for hot water supply.
According to Lopatin, most consumers are diligently paying fees, but the overall level of debt continues to grow.
To avoid trial, KyivTeploenergo offers consumers the possibility of repairing the debt in the desired terms. At the same time, in the event that this option refuses, the company is forced to take more strict steps.
Kyivteploenergo has filed 1.5 thousand court claims to recover the debt, and this amount continues to grow. After the moratorium was canceled, a penalty of 0.01%was accumulated day -day for penalties for the day -to -day debts. In addition, the court may supplement inflation charges and 3% per year.
In the event of repayment prevention, debtors are at risk of arresting funds in accounts, as well as restrictions on the use of real estate and transportation.
According to deputy head of Kyiv City State Administration Peter Panteleev, a significant part of debtors is people who have the opportunity to pay, but ignore community obligations. He emphasized that heat debts are not only a financial problem, but also a threat to the stable passage of the next heat period.
