Globlee aircraft has the ability to monitor air, sea and soil space, including monitoring Russian submarines and shadow fleet of oil tanks in the Baltic Sea.
The Swedish defense company SAAB has proposed to use the Globaleye reconnaissance aircraft in the regional patrols. According to The Financial Times, Saab promotes Globaleye as the basis for joint reconnaissance operations of Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.
It is indicated that this decision aims to strengthen the defense capabilities and reduction in the United States in safety and military equipment. Planes are capable of monitoring the wind, sea and soil, especially to monitor Russian submarines and fleet of shadow of oil tanks in the Baltic Sea.
Saab is one of many European defense contractors who seeks to use the growth of defense costs after a full invasion of the Russian Federation in Ukraine. In addition, the company expects a reduction in US trust due to uncertainty about Washington’s future foreign policy.
Saab CEO Michael Johansson said the interest in cooperation in the northern countries increased significantly after the entry of Finland and Sweden to NATO in 2023-2024.
“How do we protect the Baltic Sea? How can we monitor the Arctic? Do you create a joint system for spinning -Connecting -North Europe? Is this a natural step in working with NATO,” Johansson emphasized.
Saab, which takes the eighth place to European defense largest companies, has offered a wide range of products: from the re -implementation of aircraft to warriors, submarines and sensory systems. The main competitor of Globleye is the American Boeing E-7 wedgetail.
Earlier it was reported that Sweden had increased the export of military equipment against the back of the war in Ukraine.
