The European Union considers a plan to restore the gas supply to Slovakia, but avoid the need to buy gas from the Russian Federation.
The European Union discusses a new plan for solving a gas dispute between Slovakia and Ukraine, which will allow the use of large capacity of Ukrainian underground underground storage facilities. Politico reports that there is a reference to the sources of consciousness.
The proposal, which first agreed with the European Commissars during a visit to KYIV this month, aims to ease Slovakia’s anger due to loss of income (up to 500 million euros per year for its transit) from energy sources after destroying a gas travel agreement between Ukraine and Russia in January.
The commission is now considering a plan that can help restore gas supplies to Slovakia, but avoid the need to buy gas from Russia, which is prohibited as part of the Repowreu block plan, aimed at a phased decline of gas from Moscow to 2027.
The following steps are suggested: Ukraine will increase gas imports from Greece and Turkey and store up to 10 billion cubic gas meters at its storage facilities. These flows pass through Slovak pipelines in countries such as Hungary in the winter.
According to the European Commission official, “This will be re -produced by Slovakia a transit country”, it will also be inside the “red line” outline for Brussels and “must match Repowere’s goals.”
Keep in mind that Slovakia is angry that Russia’s gas hall has been halted by Ukraine, her government has responded to this decision by criticizing and irritating. Slovakia Robert Fitzo’s prime minister at the country’s parliament at a meeting of the economic committee still called the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky a “fully” due to the cessit of Russian gas transit.
