Advertising portals to celebrate Grilled Chicken Day Chicken shop administrators in Peru warned this Sunday that prices for this traditional dish have risen significantly in recent months.
Team RPP News arrived this afternoon at the chicken store on Mexico Avenue in La Victoria, where a quarter had been sold a few months ago grilled chicken in 13 salts. Today the dish is priced at S/18.00.
“We had to partly subsidize and partly raise the cost slightly; because the cost growth was very high, primarily due to the production of chicken feed,” commented José Tarrillo, owner of the business.
“Now we sell a quarter of a chicken for 18 soles; when about four or five months ago we cost them 13 soles,” he added.
Despite this increase, the businessman hopes to sell about 1,800 grilled chickens this Sunday in connection with the celebration.
“I used to eat more chicken”
High price grilled chicken led to the fact that many visitors stopped eating this dish regularly. At the aforementioned chicken store, a woman admitted to eating much less grilled chicken.
“I used to eat more chicken. Now you just buy from time to time, about twice a month. I used to (I ate) once a week,” he said.
