Ukrainians wrote a record of 33.5 thousand cars

In Ukraine, for 2024, a record of 33.5 thousand vehicles was selected, which has been an unspecified indicator compared to recent years. It was reported by the Institute of Research Auto Market, which refers to the data of the State Pedagogical Council of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The figure was 12.8 thousand more compared to 2023, when 20.7 thousand cars were written, and 20.7 thousand more than 2022, if only 12.8 thousand vehicles were repaired

The main reasons for such a jump are changes in the policies for mobilizing transportation, when those who have many cars have tried to –deregister them to prevent their seizure for defense needs. Another important reason is military operation, as a result of which many cars are destroyed during the enemy. Culling has also been a frequent result of accumulating cars, serious injuries to an accident or lack of transportation documents that are not re -registered with new -owned ones.

Most vehicles are fixed in the Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions. The Kyiv region is the leader with 2884 cars, and the capital is in the second place with 2707 units. The third place was occupied by the Dnipropetrovsk region, where 2537 cars were written.

The average age of cars written is 30 years, and shipment – 29 years. This figure emphasizes the tendency of the accumulation of the Ukrainian Automobile Park, and also indicates that used cars are often written in scrap due to the impossibility of restoring or repairing after significant damage.

According to forecasts, in the coming years, the number of written cars will grow, especially due to the destruction of cars as a result of the war and the ongoing aging of vehicles. On the one hand, a reduction in the number of roads on the roads will help reduce ecological loading, but, on the other hand, it damages the market of used cars, which is an integral part of the country’s transportation infrastructure.

Culling is the final operation of the documentary that occurs in the car life. After this stage, the vehicle will not be registered again and return to the operation. That is, the choice is actually the only one – for disposal, or at least remelting the metal part of the structure.

Remember that in January in Ukraine 14 thousand used cars imported from abroad were registered.

Meanwhile, in the world in January, global sales of new cars reached 6,782,098 units, 1.9% more than the same month of 2024.
