The actual price of gas sales in Ukraine increased by 0.2% to 16,307 hryvnias, after a three -month -old price increase.
The actual price sale of natural gas obtained in Ukraine for February 2025 is set to 16,306.79 UAH per 1 thousand m³ (without VAT). This is proven by the data of the Ministry of Economy.
Thus, the price of gas sales increased by 0.2%. As a result, the gas fell in price after the price increase for three consecutive months.
At the same time, gas is more expensive than February 2024 (12 180 hryvnias).
The price is generated based on the maximum amount of weight average gas sales price under sale and sale agreements completed in organized commodity markets. However, in January 2025, such agreements were unfinished, therefore, the average arithmetic value of gas excerpts in European exchanges, especially the Argus European natural gas and ICIS European Spot Gas Market, was taken as the basis of the calculation.

The UA VTP gas price according to the European’s natural gas gas reached 16,214.02 UAH. for 1 thousand m³;

UA VTP gas price according to ICIS European spot gas market – 16399.55 UAH per 1 thousand m³.
Developing the actual gas price is the key to determining the rent fee for the use of subsoil responsibilities and taxes of gas companies -producing.
Remember that Ukraine maintains gas imports at a level of 16.3 million cubic meters, continuous purchase at the EU market.
We added that, according to energy minister Herman Galushchenko, the next heat season, Ukraine will need an import of at least 1 billion cubic meters of gas.
