The American president has signaled the readiness to avoid a trade between Washington and Beijing.
US President Donald Trump has announced the possibility of ending a new trade agreement with China. Bloomberg reported this on Thursday, February 20.
“This is possible, it is possible,” Trump said, answering the question of whether he would end a new agreement with China.
The American leader did not announce the details of the potential agreement. The publication writes that any agreement will find significant obstacles, some of which Trump himself created.
Remember, on February 2, the US president signed the orders to introduce duties to imports from Canada, Mexico and China. For imports from Mexico and Canada, the role will be 25%, and for goods from China – 10%.
In response, China introduced 15% of duties for American coal and liquefied natural gas, as well as 10% for oil, agricultural equipment and some cars. Beijing also filed a complaint with the World Trade Organization.
China and State have 60 days to solve as part of the World Trade Organization of a dispute relating to 10% of US duties for all Chinese imports without consideration of WTO arbitration.
