Kazakhstani banks stopped registering payment cards for foreigners without a residence permit.
Four other Kazakhstan banks stopped releasing payment cards for non -residents, including Russian citizens. It was reported by Rossmi on Wednesday, January 29.

According to Frank Media, the VTB support service said the cause of the “technical problems” was and the stop was temporary. However, the time for continuation of the service is not specified. On the Nurbank website, it is noted that the release of cards to non -residents has been suspended “related to technical work.” The Halyk Bank operators and the Eurasian Bank confirmed that the restrictions were introduced, but the details were not announced.
Earlier, on January 21, it was found that similar measures were taken by the Home Credit Bank (subsidiary of the Czech Group PPF) and Kashpi Bank. Home Credit Bank said the end of registering cards would be valid for an uncertain period. The Kashpi Bank has pledged to continue the release of cards from February 3, but there is one important change: now non -resident cards will only run for 12 months.
Keep in mind that one of the largest state banks at China Bank of China has stopped working with the Moscow exchange after it falls under US sanctions.
