The average selling rate of the dollar decreased to UAH 42.20, and the euro exchange rate increased to UAH 44.35.
The hryvnia exchange rate continued to rise against the dollar in exchange offices at the beginning of the new working week. RBC-Ukraine reported this in connection with market monitoring data on Monday, January 27.
The average selling rate of the dollar in Ukraine decreased by another 5 kopecks, to 42.20 Hryvnia, the euro exchange rate increased by 10 kopecks, to 44.35 Hryvnia.
Today, exchange offices buy a dollar for an average of 41.70 Hryvnia, and a euro for 43.65 Hryvnia.
In the interbank market, the American currency is at the level of 41.84-41.87 UAH/dollar (buying and selling) – 5 kopecks lower compared to the previous day’s close.
On Friday, the National Bank reduced the dollar to Hryvnia exchange rate on Monday to the level of the end of last year – 41.9253 Hryvnia (-0.0498 UAH). The official euro exchange rate is 43.9168 UAH (+0.2459 UAH).
Let us remind you that in the last week the demand for money has decreased in Ukraine. The dollar exchange rate fell by 20 kopecks during the week and fell below 42 hryvnia.
On January 20-24, the NBU sold $756.25 billion in the interbank market. This is 25.5% less than the previous week of January 13-17 – $1.015 billion. In total, since the beginning of the year, the NBU sold about $3.2 billion in the interbank market.
