So far, more than a thousand trading businesses across Ukraine are willing to issue cash when using a payment card, the National Bank reports.
In March, Ukrainians withdrew money at the cash desks of trading enterprises in the total UAH 3.8 billion. This was reported by the press service of the National Bank.
At the very beginning of the widespread war in Ukraine, it was recommended that traders provide an opportunity to withdraw money from stores. So far, more than a thousand trading businesses across Ukraine are willing to issue cash when using a payment card. At least 35 thousand post-terminals supporting this function are ready to provide such a service.
It was found that approximately 2.7 million such transactions using payment cards were made in the month. The average bill of one transaction is approximately UAH 1,400. In March, an average of nearly 88 thousand transactions took place daily for a total amount of more than UAH 124 million. This opportunity for clients has been set up by 25 Ukrainian banks-issued payment cards.
Six acquiring banks have also set up their post-terminals for such operations: JSC Raiffeisen Bank, JSC CB Privatbank, JSC Oschadbank, AB Yuzhny, JSC Alfa-Bank and PJSC Bank Vostok.
Often, Ukrainians receive money in negotiations with large retail chains: ATB, Silpo, VARUS, Fora, FOZZY and NOVUS; actively using pharmacy and gas chains to withdraw money.
By the end of March, the volume and number of such operations had gradually decreased. In the past week, on average, more than 61 thousand such transactions took place daily for the amount of almost UAH 90 million.
Recall that in Ukraine for the period of martial law and 30 days after its cancellation, credit holidays are announced. It was also reported that the Cabinet of Ministers canceled fines for non -payment of community services during the war.
