Detectives exposed a group of people for embezzling funds from a joint-stock company on a large scale. Officials of a business controlled by sanctioned oligarch Dmitry Firtash were involved in the deal.
The Bureau of Economic Security exposed officials of Dmitry Firtash’s companies of misuse of government funds during the installation of gas meters. The press service of the Bureau reported this on Monday, January 20.
“Detectives exposed a group of people in the misuse of funds from a joint stock company on a particularly large scale. Officials of a business controlled by the sanctioned oligarch Dmitry Firtash were involved in the transaction, ” the report notes.
The company provides gas distribution to consumers of all forms of ownership and the population in the Volyn region.
JSC officials have been working for three years to install gas meters for the population, concluding agreements with contractors.
One of the contracts was concluded with a private enterprise that planned to install 1,181 household meters. However, the work was not completed, and the cost of its installation in the amount of more than UAH 1.27 million was included in the certificates of completed work. The joint stock company – gas distributor – carried out repairs under the contract in full.
Thus, the defendants caused damage to the company in the amount of more than UAH 1.27 million.
Detectives have already reported suspicion to one of the officers under Part 5 of Art. 191 (misappropriation, embezzlement of property or property thereof by abuse of official position).
