The number of registered individual entrepreneurs increased in relative terms in Kyiv (+11.%), Volyn (+12.1%), Rivne (+12.4%) regions.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Tax and Customs Policy Daniil Getmantsev said that the number of registered individual entrepreneurs in 2024 will increase by 119 thousand. He reported it to Telegram on Wednesday, January 15th.
Thus, on January 1, 2025, the number of registered individual entrepreneurs reached 1,707,677 people. This is 7.5% (+118,943 individual entrepreneurs) than on January 1, 2024.
“Again, the number of registered individual entrepreneurs in 2024 did not decrease, as some media and experts said at the end of last year, but it increased with the closing and, accordingly, removed from the register (due to detinization and closing “sleeping”) individual entrepreneurs,” – emphasized Getmantsev.
He added that the most popular KVED, where more private entrepreneurs are registered, remains IT and retail trade.
Five types of economic activities and according to the number of individual entrepreneurs as of January 1, 2025:

computer programming (147.8 thousand individual entrepreneurs),

retail trade in non-specialized stores mainly in food, beverages and tobacco products (91.2 thousand),

other types of retail trade in non-specialized stores (75.2 thousand),
-
hairdressing services and beauty salons (71.6 thousand),
-
retail trade from trays and markets (59.4 thousand).
At the same time, computer programming, although it remains the most popular type of economic activity in terms of the number of registered individual entrepreneurs, in 2024 their number in this area decreased by 1.6% (-2.4 thousand ).
In 2024, the share of individual entrepreneurs whose head is a woman has continued to increase, reaching almost parity with men. 47.5% to 52.5%, and two years ago – 45.9% to 54.1%.
More than half of registered individual entrepreneurs are in Kyiv and five regions:

Kyiv – 14.3% of all registered;

Dnepropetrovsk region – 8.2%;

Kharkov region – 7.6%;

Lviv region – 7.4%;

Kyiv region – 6.6%;

Odessa region – 6.5%.
Over the past year, the number of registered individual entrepreneurs increased more in relative terms in Kyiv (+11.%), Volyn (+12.1%), Rivne (+12.4%) regions.
Let’s remember that according to the data opendatabot, in Ukraine, starting from 2024, 254,288 individual entrepreneurs stopped their activities, 22.5 thousand of them did it after the President signed the tax increase law.
Subsequently, Getmantsev commented on the information about the closure of thousands of individual entrepreneurs due to the resource law for financing the army, saying that the data does not correspond to reality.
