The group’s companies will sue Russia and demand proper compensation for all losses and lost business.
The businesses of the SCM group will demand compensation from Russia for assets destroyed due to military aggression on all possible international and national occasions. This was stated by SCM owner Rinat Akhmetov in an interview with the German edition of Tagesspiegel.
“We will clearly take claims against Russia – on all international and national occasions – and we will demand proper compensation for all losses and lost business,” he said.
In addition, he recalled that now Russia is stealing Ukrainian goods, in particular, metallurgical products in the captured Mariupol.
“Right now, the Russian Federation is cynically loading Ukrainian steel on its ships in Mariupol. This is theft and an outright violation of international law,” Akhmetov said.
It was previously reported that SCM businesses had lost approximately $ 20 billion of assets due to the Russian invasion. In late June, Akhmetov filed a lawsuit against Russia in the European Court of Human Rights.
