In 2024, the amount of foreign currency sold in the interbank market reached $35 billion 312 million, and bought – only $126 million.
This week, the National Bank of Ukraine sold the lowest amount of currency in the past month in the interbank market. This was confirmed by data on the regulator’s website on Saturday, December 28.
In total, the NBU sold $744.1 million, which is half of the previous week and corresponds to the volumes at the end of November.
Also, for the first time in three weeks, the regulator bought small amounts of foreign currency – $260,000.
So, in 2024, the amount of foreign currency sold reached $35 billion 312 million, and bought – only $126 million.
We remind you that the current week ended with the dollar rising to another historic high. On Monday, the US currency was worth UAH 42.0889. for 1 dollar (+0.0504 UAH).
And the day before it became known that in December in Ukraine the purchase of foreign currency from banks increased to almost $3 billion.
