The National Bank of Ukraine increased the dollar-hryvnia exchange rate to a new historic high. This happened for the first time in 2025, according to data on the regulator’s website on Friday, January 3.
So, the official exchange rate for Monday is set at UAH 42.0889. for 1 dollar (+0.0504 UAH). The previous maximum was December 31, 2024 – UAH 42.0390.
In turn, the euro fell slightly in price and at the beginning of the new week it was worth UAH 43.3347 (-0.0406 UAH).
In the interbank market, the American currency rose in price by 2 kopecks – to 42.11-42.14 UAH/dollar (buying and selling) compared to the previous day’s close.
In the cash market, the dollar rose in price by 5 kopecks, up to UAH 42.50.
We remind you that in the past week the National Bank sold more than $1.6 billion in the interbank market. This is the highest volume since the beginning of a full-scale war with Russia.
And now it became known that in December in Ukraine the purchase of foreign currency from banks increased to almost $3 billion.
