In the interbank market, the American currency rose by 11 kopecks – to 42.06-42.09 UAH/dollar (buying and selling).
The National Bank of Ukraine has increased the exchange rate of the dollar against the hryvnia to a new historic high. This was confirmed by data on the regulator’s website on Monday, December 30.
The official exchange rate for tomorrow is set at 42.0390 UAH per dollar (+0.0987 UAH). The previous maximum was recorded on December 24 – 41.9910 UAH/USD. Since the beginning of the year, the rate has increased by 4 hryvnias (10.7%) from 37.98 UAH/dollar on December 31, 2023.
The official exchange rate of the euro has also increased significantly and tomorrow will be 43.9266 UAH (+0.1787 UAH).
In the interbank market, the American currency added 11 kopecks to the price at 42.06-42.09 UAH/dollar (buying and selling) compared to the previous day’s close.
In the cash market, the dollar exchange rate increased by 20 kopecks – 42.40 UAH.
We remind you that in the past week the National Bank sold more than $1.6 billion in the interbank market. This is the highest volume since the beginning of a full-scale war with Russia.
As you know, on December 12, the National Bank unexpectedly increased the discount rate. The regulator made this decision in response to inflation rising to 11.2% in November.
