The average dollar selling rate increased to 42.15 hryvnia, and the euro exchange rate increased to 44.40 hryvnia.
The hryvnia exchange rate continues to decline against the dollar and euro on the cash market. RBC-Ukraine reported this in connection with monitoring data on Thursday, December 19.
Thus, the average selling rate of the dollar in Ukraine increased by another 10 kopecks – to 42.15 Hryvnia, the euro exchange rate increased by 5 kopecks – to 44.40 Hryvnia.
Today, exchange offices buy dollars for an average of 41.65 Hryvnia, euros for 43.70 Hryvnia.
In the interbank market, the American currency is at the level of 41.97-41.99 UAH/dollar (buying and selling) – an increase of 1 kopeck compared to the previous day’s close.
Yesterday, the National Bank increased the dollar exchange rate against the hryvnia for the third day in a row, and it again updated its historical maximum – 41.9048 Hryvnia per dollar (+0.0777 UAH). The official euro exchange rate is 43.9581 UAH (+0.0438 UAH).
We remind you that since the beginning of the year, the dollar exchange rate has increased by almost 4 hryvnias (10.3%) from 37.98 UAH/dollar on December 31, 2023.
It was also reported that last week the NBU sold more than $1 billion in the interbank market – the highest volume in the last six months. Since the beginning of the year, the regulator has sold more than $31 billion.
