The latest sale of shares in SpaceX increased the fortune of the American entrepreneur by $50 billion.

American entrepreneur Elon Musk became the first person whose fortune reached $400 billion. Bloomberg reported this on Thursday, December 12.

The most recent sale of SpaceX shares increased his fortune by $50 billion at once – for a total of $439.2 billion.

Musk’s fortune began to grow rapidly from the end of 2022. His business has been growing in recent weeks, boosted by the victory of Donald Trump in the US presidential election. So, one day after the election, the businessman added $26.5 billion to his fortune. This happened because of the growth of Tesla shares.

Tesla shares have risen 65% since the election on expectations that Trump will end incentives for electric vehicles that would help Tesla’s competitors.

The value of Musk’s artificial intelligence startup xAI has more than doubled, helped by Trump’s election victory.

We remind you that on December 11, SpaceX and its investors agreed to buy shares worth $1.25 billion. The deal, which values the company at about $350 billion, makes SpaceX the most valuable privately held startup in the world.
