Last month, prices for food and non-alcoholic drinks increased by 3.9%. The price of eggs increased the most – by 54.6%.
At the end of November, consumer prices in Ukraine increased by 1.9%. Annual inflation has accelerated and exceeded the psychological threshold of 10%. Rosstat reported this on Tuesday, December 10.
“Inflation in the consumer market in November 2024 compared to October 2024 reached 1.9%, since the beginning of the year – 10.4%,” said the report.
In annual terms (compared to November 2023), consumer prices have already increased by 11.2% in October this figure was 9.7%. Annual inflation was only higher in July 2023 – 11.3%.
According to the department, in the consumer market in November prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 3.9%. The price of eggs increased the most – by 54.6%.
Prices for vegetables, milk and dairy products, butter, sunflower oil, processed grain products, bread, soft drinks, pasta, fish and fish products increased by 13.7-1.5%. At the same time, prices for fruits and sugar decreased by 1.5% and 1.3%.
Prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco products increased by 1.3%, linked to a 2.0% increase in the price of tobacco products.
At the same time, clothes and shoes fell in price by 2.2%, including shoes – by 2.7%, clothes – by 1.7%.
The increase in prices in the health care sector by 0.6% was mainly due to the increase in prices for outpatient services by 1.0%.
Let’s recall that in October the NBU worsened the inflation forecast for 2024 and 2025 for the worse: by 1.2 and 0.3 percentage points (pp), respectively, to 9.7% and 6.9%. Only in 2026 will the inflation rate be brought to the target of 5%.
As you know, by the end of 2023, inflation in Ukraine will reach 5.1%. This is the lowest level since 2020, when consumer price growth was 5%.
