Banks have increased the import of cash currency to Ukraine to the maximum since the beginning of 2024.
The amount of foreign currency cash imported by Ukrainian banks in October reached $1.684 billion. This is 29.0% more than in September ($1.306 billion), according to data from the National Bank of Ukraine.
Thus, banks imported the highest amount of foreign currency to Ukraine since January of this year ($1.864 billion).
At the same time, banks imported $1.150 billion in cash in October, which was 6.9% more than in September ($1.075 billion). The volume of euro cash increased by 131% to the equivalent of 531.7 million dollars (229.6 million in September).
According to the NBU, in October, currencies worth $134.6 million were withdrawn from Ukraine.
