The fund noted Ukraine’s progress in fulfilling structural beacons and obligations, Denis Shmygal said.
Ukraine and the International Monetary Fund agreed at the expert level on the sixth revision of the program within the framework of the extended financing mechanism of the EFF. Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal announced this on Telegram on Tuesday, November 19.
According to him, such a decision will allow our country to attract another 1.1 billion dollars in the state budget.
“We expect that the executive board of the IMF will make a corresponding decision in the near future,” the head of government wrote.
According to him, the fund noted Ukraine’s progress in fulfilling structural beacons and obligations. They also emphasized that the Ukrainian economy continues to show stability.
In turn, the IMF reported that the fund’s mission led by Heaven Gray held negotiations in Kyiv on November 11-18 with the Ukrainian authorities on the sixth review of the country’s 4-year Extended Facility Facility (EFF).
The mission met with Shmygal, Minister of Finance Sergei Marchenko, head of the National Bank Andrei Pyshny, other government ministers, officials and representatives of civil society.
“IMF staff and the Ukrainian authorities have reached staff-level agreement on the sixth review of the EFF. The agreement is subject to approval by the IMF’s executive board, with board review expected in the coming that week,” Gray said.
Let’s recall that on October 23, Ukraine received $1.1 billion from the IMF as part of the initial, fifth revision of the EFF program for 2023-2027. Its total amount is 15.5 billion dollars.
