The start of the program for Ukraine was agreed upon at the Spring Meetings in Washington.
Ukraine entered into agreements with the World Bank worth about $600 million under the new program. Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal announced this on Telegram on Monday, November 4.
According to him, the initiation of the program was agreed upon during the Spring Meetings in Washington. And now the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economy have signed corresponding agreements with the World Bank.
“We are talking about a new Sustainable, Inclusive and Environmentally Sustainable Entrepreneurship (RISE) project, which aims to support small and medium-sized businesses, green transition, improving the business environment, digitalization and facilitating entry into new market 2027, and the total planned The cost of the program is more than $1 billion,” wrote Shmygal.
He believes that the program will significantly strengthen the Ukrainian economy and strengthen small and medium-sized enterprises to fight modern challenges.
Earlier it became known that the new program of the World Bank of Ukraine provides support for 20 thousand small and medium-sized enterprises. Thanks to this, it is possible to create or maintain at least 40 thousand jobs.
The World Bank will also create a special fund for Ukraine, its size will be at least $10 billion.
