The volume of currency purchases in October jumped by 27.1% compared to September, when Ukrainians bought $1.096 billion.
At the end of October, the population of Ukraine sold cash and non-cash money to banks in the amount of $1.611 billion (equivalent) and bought $3.006 billion. Net purchases of foreign currency totaled $1.394 billion. This was confirmed by data from the National Bank on Monday, November 4.
So, in October, net purchases of foreign currency reached a new record for 12 years – in November 2012 – $1.523 billion.
Also, the volume of purchases increased by 27.1% compared to September, when Ukrainians bought $1.096 billion. In total, since the beginning of the year, Ukrainians bought $9.626 billion from banks.
In October, Ukrainians bought a record amount of currency for 12 years (in November 2012 – $1.523 billion).
We remind you that the previous record for net purchases of foreign currency for 12 years was set in July of this year – $1.117 billion.
It was also reported that in October the NBU increased the sale of dollars to the highest since the beginning of the year – more than $3.4 billion.
