By the end of the year, the first batch of Lynx infantry fighting vehicles will be produced at the first plant. A second plant will also open soon.
The first plant of the German defense concern Rheinmetall has started work in Ukraine. They plan to launch a second one soon. There should be four such factories in total. Company director Armin Papperger spoke about this in an interview with TSN, published on Saturday, October 26.
As Papperger said, by the end of the year the first batch of Lynx infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) will be produced at the first plant.
“Right now we service infantry fighting vehicles, but also main battle tanks so it’s a very productive joint venture,” Papperger said.
According to him, the company owns 51% of the shares of this business. He also added that the German corporation’s second plant in the country is “on the way”. In total, four factories are planned to be built on the territory of Ukraine.
We remind you that Rheinmetall recently transferred 20 Marder infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine. They are equipped with a modern laser rangefinder, which can significantly improve the accuracy of hitting targets on the battlefield.
